Be A Superhero: Team Sarcoma
Come out this summer on
July 18, 2009 to support International Sarcoma Awareness Week! This year Waco will host its own Team Sarcoma Event, the "Be A Superhero: Team Sarcoma" 5k. Events include a 5k run, 5k walk, and a 1k fun run, and will take place at the Historic Waco Suspension bridge. Also, the fun run will be lead by an energetic cast of superheroes and will include a costume contest for all who come dressed as their own favorite hero. This event is held in honor of Live Oak student Andrew Moore, who has fought his own battle with a Sarcoma cancer this past year. Day-of registration begins at 7 AM, with the 5k run, 5k walk, and 1k fun run beginning at 8:30 AM, 9 AM, and 9:15 AM, respectively. All proceeds support Sarcoma Cancer Research. To register online for the event, visit Active.com, keyword "Team Sarcoma". For more information, call
